Hi everyone I'm not that inactive yet :P this post is about me getting n00bed today!
Anyway to start off, RE period! My group is me+Christian Heng...and we arranged to meet mentors at 12pm today. The last period ended at 11.35am and so we should have enough time to make it to Nanyang Poly right? Wrong!
Firstly, Mrs Low Mei Choo (our RE mentor) made us wait because she was talking to another group which also had to rush off. So anyway by the time she was done with us, it was 12 already! Whee...we rushed off and reached the place at 12.30 around there. We gave our 2 mentors calls on their office phones but nobody answered...so we were slacking around until about 12.45, when finally Dr Xu (one of our mentors) turns up and tells us its lunch now, why don't we go to have some lunch then return in 30min? Bleh n00bed :(
So anyway me and Chris had lunch at Mac's...at first we didn't know where to find the Mac's in NYP so Chris called Shenghao while we were wandering, then we somehow met them a few minutes later, and it appeared we were near Mac's already. So Shenghao, Marcus and Sammy were laughing their heads off at us and asking why we had to call when we were already at the place. N00bed again...
We returned on time after 30min, and tried to call our mentors and to no avail again. After 15min, I tried again and Ms Lim finally picked up and told us to wait for a few minutes, then she brought us up to the lab. The 3 "pros" were in the lab already doing their own stuff. They left after not too long though. Meanwhile, Dr Xu taught us how to use the freeze-dry machine and told us basically what we were going to do in our experiment. However, he was quite busy with his own stuff also and we were mostly left alone.
Then just before we finished putting the fungi samples in the freeze-dry machine for freeze-drying, 2 sec 3 RGS girls came in...appears that they're doing the same project as us, "Screening of Antifungal Properties in Macroscopic Fungi found in Singapore", only that theirs is for Anti-Microbial Properties. Anyway, they started doing their own stuff and we were daoing each other. Except that Christian was commenting on how ugly they were and dreaming aloud to me what would happen if only Michelle Tan joined SMP too...He was also dreaming how Samantha Lam (whoever that is) is so attracted to him and talked to him during chess comp oO what a n00b! :D
After we finished our stuff a few minutes later, we weren't sure what to do next so we asked Dr Xu. And guess what he said?! "Join the 2 girls in what they're doing" or something like that. Then we weren't sure what he meant exactly so we asked again, then he said "follow what the girls are doing, if you don't know, then ask them" oO ok so he's that busy? Since Christian Heng very cleverly commented to me that they're ugly and not at all chio, he didn't want to talk to them...so I had to act n00b and start off conversation with a "hello" -.-"
OK anyway we didn't talk to them too much...just that Chris and me didn't know what to do at all. So we were forced to ask the girls and they told us...but they weren't sure why they were doing that either. We just followed and clever bio-pro Christian figured out what we were doing that for in the end, but before that, there were many question marks above the 4 of our heads. Our mentors didn't come to help us :( and so we had to depend quite a lot on the (eeee SEC 3) RG girls. And they apparently thought we were dunno what bio-pro-programme people at first because they asked whether we were in there, and were very surprised when we didn't understand more than them. Argh n00bed again!
Anyway we continued with our filtration of the methanol. We filled up the flask too much until it took such a long time to evaporate all the methanol away, like 2 hours? By the time we finished it was almost 6, and while we had only finished one, the girls had finished dunno how many already oO n00bed again :( Sigh so anyway we left lor and I reached home at 6.30pm.
Finally, my dad came back with my JLPT letter in his hand after getting it from the letterbox today and LALALA I PASSED! By how much? 245/400...and the passing marks is 60%, in other words 240. I only passed by 5 marks! All thanks to my 24/100 for listening sigh :( yet another n00b
So how many times did I get n00bed today? Go count! :p
